Targeting ECD&F centers and their surrounding villages, GHDF and UNICEF are implementing a 10-month program, which consists of mobilizing the population, creating Community Health Clubs (CHCs) in each village and raising awareness about basic sanitation and hygiene practices.

After meeting local leaders, and training influential community members, the trainees were then put in charge of creating community health clubs and spreading the message in their respective communities.

The trainings and messages focuss on water hygiene (storage, treatment, handling), the importance of using latrines, hand washing with soap, and proper disposal of children faeces.

Along with mobilization and sensitization, this project aims to guiding and supporting communities to improve their sanitation facilities with demonstrations and trainings for the construction of improved latrines and hand washing stations.
